Messapic village, Ceglie, in province of Brindisi, grew up during the ‘700 with new buildings and developing countryside.

The symbol of the town is the castle, Castello Ducale, dating back to XV and XVI century. In the renovated part, there are now the public library and the art gallery dedicated to the local artist Emilio Notte.

In the white village thee are important monuments: the Mother Church, Chiesa Matrice di Santa Maria Assunta, the clock tower Torre dell’orologio and the museum MAAC (MuSE).

Known as City of Taste, Ceglie produces delicious typical products: biscotto cegliese, Slow Food biscuit and the presence of Med Cooking School, prestigious international cooking school.

In the countryside, there are not only trulli, dry-stone walls and typical landscape, but also a wild area, Pineta Ulmo, crossed by one of the tracks Ciclovia dell’Acquedotto pugliese. The town has also the Yellow Flag of Cycled Town.
